Touchy Subjects

What is the controversial issue you found in your homework?  Why do you believe it is controversial?  What do you predict the opposing viewpoints are? 

Like Huck

Were you anything like Huck Finn when you were a kid?  Did you get into adventures or cause any mischief?  Write about it.  If Huck were living in today's world, what sort of things do you think he would get into?  Think about what you've read so far in Huck Finn to make an inferrence about what he would be like in today's world.

Think about Mark Twain and his view of human nature as he portrayed it in his essay, "The Lowest Animal."  Do you agree/disagree with him?  Name some text-to-world examples to support your argument.  Look at the image given.  What does this say about human nature?

Satire!

What example of satire did you find last night for your homework?  What was satirical about it?  What was it making fun of?

What is something you don't agree with?  Is something going on you just don't get in line with?  Maybe something at your school, or church, or maybe you just don't agree with the latest movie your favorite celebrity made, or latest song your favority band released?  Why don't you agree with it?  What do you think can be done to correct it?
